A video circulating on online have allegedly shown Nigerian soldiers assaulting and dragging an individual identified as suspected terrorists and ammunition suppliers.

One of the clips reportedly shows a man dragged behind a moving military truck along a dirt road with his hands tied, while another video appears to capture troops beating a suspect with sticks. Captions accompanying the videos claimed the individuals were linked to terrorism activities, with some posts mocking the suspects using phrases such as “enjoying a ride, bush tour, etc”

The videos have sparked mixed reactions online. Some Nigerians defended the actions shown in the footage, citing growing frustration over persistent attacks by Boko Haram insurgents and armed bandits across parts of the country.

Others, however, expressed concern about possible human rights violations and warned that such treatment of suspects could fuel retaliation or further insecurity. Critics also questioned whether the actions shown complied with military rules of engagement and international humanitarian standards.

As of the time of reporting, Nigerian military authorities had not officially verified the authenticity of the videos or commented on the incidents shown in the clips.

Meanwhile, the military recently announced significant gains in ongoing counterterrorism operations, stating that troops killed 317 terrorists, arrested 314 suspects, and rescued 221 kidnapped victims within the past month.
