Blessing Moshood who is a 29-year-old graduate from the department of sociology in Kogi State University, has been reportedly murdered, with her lifeless body discovered inside a canal in Jikwoyi area of Abuja.
According to her sister, Abigail Moshood, Blessing left home around 8pm on Thursday after receiving a phone call. She later contacted the family, saying she would briefly return to pick up her phone charger which she had forgotten.
Moreover, she never returned home, raising deep concern among family members, relatives, friends and loved ones.
Abigail said the family later heard reports about the body of a woman found inside a canal, and the description of the hairstyle, outfit, facials, physique and dressing matched that of her sister.
She added that officers from the Jikwoyi Police Station evacuated the body, which was reportedly found half-naked, and dropped to a mortuary in Mararaba, Nasarawa State and the family later visited the police station where photographs shown to them confirmed the deceased’s identity was that of their blessing.
Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine, confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing assuring the family that those involved in this act will face the consequences of the law.
