The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation on major infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad, alongside directors and senior officials of the ministry.
Conversations on the visit was centered on improving collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Ministry of Works, particularly regarding ongoing road construction and infrastructure development projects nationwide. Key attention was given to the Coastal Highway project and other strategic road initiatives designed to boost national connectivity.
The police chief reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ensuring adequate security for critical infrastructure projects across the country. He assured the ministry that the force would continue deploying operational resources and personnel needed to safeguard construction sites and support smooth execution of the project.
Officials at the meeting also emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in protecting national assets and ensuring timely completion of road projects considered vital to Nigeria’s development agenda.
