The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced Saturday, June 13, 2026, as the date to carry out the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise for candidates who didn’t take part in the examination due to circumstances across the country.
According to the board, the mop-up examination is specifically for candidates who successfully presented themselves and were biometrically verified during the 2026 UTME but could not sit for the examination due to various challenges.
JAMB explained that the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 23 and April 29, 2026. However, some examination centres experienced some technical issue which prevented several candidates from taking their tests as scheduled.
The board also disclosed that some candidates whose results were withdrawn over examination malpractice allegations, as well as candidates who could not complete biometric verification during the main exercise, have been included in the mop-up examination arrangement.
JAMB described the mop-up exercise as the final stage of the 2026 UTME process, aimed at resolving all outstanding issues involving candidates who encountered difficulties despite appearing for the examination.
Affected candidates have been advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, ahead of the examination date. The board urged candidates to familiarize themselves with their assigned centres and make adequate preparations, stressing that there would be no additional opportunity to sit for the 2026 UTME after the mop-up exercise.
