The Inspector-General of Police has ordered the dismissal and prosecution of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman following the alleged killing of a young man identified as Mene Ogidi in Delta State.
The incident has sparked tension in Effurun, where youths staged a protest at the Ekpan Police Station. The demonstration reportedly escalated into a crises between the protesters and security personnel, as anger mounted over the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to reports, the victim, also known as Ogidi Mena, was allegedly subjected to a summary execution by the officer, identified as ASP Nuhu Usman, also known by the alias Ogbegbe. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from members of the community.
