Popular Nigerian social media influencer Blessing CEO has been granted bail of N10 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos following her arraignment over allegations of fraud and theft involving N36 million.

The influencer, whose real name is Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, appeared before Justice D.I. Dipeolu on Tuesday after being charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court ordered that she provide two sureties and remain in correctional custody until the bail conditions are fulfilled.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against her. During the proceedings, her lawyer, Nneka Nkama, requested that she be allowed to remain in EFCC custody while arrangements were made to meet the bail requirements.

However, the prosecution, represented by EFCC counsel Suleiman Suleiman, opposed the application, stating that the commission’s detention facility was already overcrowded and unable to accommodate her further. The court subsequently directed that she be remanded in a correctional centre pending the perfection of her bail.

According to the anti-graft agency, the defendant allegedly collected N36 million from a complainant, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye, between July 14 and July 17, 2024. The EFCC claimed the money was obtained under the pretext that she had authority to lease out a six-bedroom detached duplex located in the Lekki area of Lagos.

Investigators further alleged that after the complainant paid the money and began renovation work on the property, the actual owner emerged and reportedly evicted her from the premises. The commission accused Blessing CEO of unlawfully converting the funds to personal use, leading to charges of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

The court adjourned the case until June 22, 2026, when the trial is expected to continue with further proceedings and presentation of evidence.
