A protest in Ibadan has taken an emotional turn after a woman who previously survived abduction along the Benin–Ore road shared her personal experience, saying she can deeply relate to the fear currently faced by kidnapped students and teachers.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, recounted how she was abducted during her journey and subjected to severe physical abuse. She alleged that she was brutally beaten by her captors and narrowly escaped sexual assault during the ordeal.
Speaking during the protest, she described the experience as traumatic and said it left lasting emotional scars. She added that such experiences highlight the harsh realities faced by many victims still in captivity across the country.
Her testimony drew strong reactions from protesters, many of whom expressed renewed anger and concern over the rising cases of abductions and insecurity affecting travelers and school communities.
The emotional account has since gone viral online, with many Nigerians calling for urgent government action to improve security and prevent further incidents of kidnapping across major highways and rural areas.
