Dangote Group Representatives have held discussions with residents of Ode Omi in Ogun State as plans progress for a proposed deep seaport project expected to boost economic activities within the region.
The engagement visit was led by the company’s Managing Director of Infrastructure and Logistics, Captain Jamil Abubakar, who headed a delegation to the waterside community for a sensitisation meeting aimed at strengthening relations with local stakeholders of the area.
The meeting was hosted by the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Folailu Adekunle Hassan, as both parties discussed the potential benefits of the project and the importance of collaboration between investors and host communities.
According to the delegation, the proposed seaport project is expected to drive long-term economic growth through increased trade, logistics operations, industrial expansion, and employment opportunities. The project is also anticipated to contribute to broader regional development across Ogun State and surrounding areas.
Community members reportedly welcomed the initiative and expressed optimism about the opportunities the development could bring to the area. The visit also highlighted the company’s emphasis on dialogue and community inclusion as part of the project planning process.
The proposed deep seaport is expected to further strengthen maritime and commercial activities in Nigeria if completed, while positioning the Ogun waterside corridor as a strategic economic hub.
